This could be a personal thing but I hate the draft lottery set up.
2K actually used to have this years ago and took it out unfortunately so I know it's possible.
They can do shooting drills, one on one, defensive drills, rebounding drills, whatever you choose them to do. It would be cool if we could select the players we want to scout and control them during the combine, and to take it a step farther, if we could invite maybe 7 players to work out for our team. But I hate that we can only play with them once in the USA vs International game before we draft them.

I love that we can see stats for players and get a full report on them. 2k is an AMAZING game and I am so fucking appreciative that despite all the myTeam money they still give some love to these modes. I just want a challenging, hyper-realistic mode modeled on actual NBA happenings. There's more I could type but I already spent too much time on this dumbass thing 8 people will read lol.

But the crappy teams aren't bad enough (this year's sixers squad will routinely crank out 20-30 wins) and the great teams aren't great enough (warriors hardly ever crack 60, let alone 70). And this comes down to the SIM engine, which I admit is pretty stellar and gets better every year. I see the powerhouses easily get knocked out of the playoffs too often. A player with 94 potential and 65% risk becomes a 94 35% of the time, and in that 65% could stay the same, rise a few OVR, or maybe even reach 93. A player with 85 potential and 0% risk becomes 85 every time. As it is, everyones stats mostly just get better as they near their prime and fall as they descend from their peak. Then a team might sign them and find they aren't quite up to par with what last season might suggest. In the offseason after a huge year (which are often contracts year), these players should still appear to be higher rated. Early bloomers who steadily decline and late bloomers who don't start until they're 27 and then go Demarre Carrol on us. Joe Johnson comes to mind this year.Ī more volatile production/rating system. It seems like every year, the unhappy guys who couldn't get moved during the deadline get bought out and make contenders even stronger. Why don't we have buy-outs yet? It's a pretty big part of the season. I want to see a team like the Pistons a few years ago when Josh Smith blew up in their face. I want to see a team go full Prokhorov and throw tens of millions of dollars and draft picks to win RIGHT NOW. My favorite part about MyGM is the stories it can generate. Why is this a bad thing? Because there are rarely "bad" contracts, or contract "steals" for that matter. I've seen Derozan re-sign for under 10M/year. Reset his contract year and the CPU gm will probably give him 3 years for 28 million or something. Tristan thompson just signed for 5 years and 82 million IRL. I'll throw in some other things too.įirst, what do I mean by contracts? Almost everyone is undervalued in this game. And they have a lot to do with each other.
